LEGO 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute GWP confirmed for Australia and New Zealand
The LEGO Group has confirmed when this month’s 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute gift-with-purchase will be available in Australia and New Zealand.
While LEGO fans in the rest of the world were able to get their hands on the vignette earlier this month, it’s so far failed to materialise in Australia and New Zealand. The LEGO Group has now confirmed via the LEGO Ambassador Network that 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute will be available with qualifying purchases from May 9 to 15.
That’s some way off yet, and represents a clear disparity between those two countries and the rest of the world – the reason for which has not been revealed as part of this confirmation. But it’s not the worst outcome possible (at least it’s arriving eventually, after all), and there’ll be even more choice of what to pick up to qualify for the freebie by mid-May.
You’ll be able to grab any of the sets launching in April, for example, which include the highly-anticipated 10300 Back to the Future Time Machine and 76956 T. rex Breakout. Further on the horizon (if you’ll forgive the pun) is 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck, which lands on shelves at the beginning of May.
The specific price threshold for 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute in Australia and New Zealand has also yet to be confirmed, however, which makes it a little trickier to plan your purchases. For reference, the required spend in the UK, US and Europe was £120 / $120 / €120.

- I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

It may be due to the operational upgrades that Lego.com was doing in Australia when the GWP came out elsewhere. Just a possibility but am glad to here it is coming here.
