LEGO Jurassic Park reveal sparks fan creativity

Fan disappointment with LEGO Jurassic Park 75961 Visitor Center: T. rex & Raptor Attack has sparked an unofficial build that takes matters into its own hands.

The reveal of the LEGO Jurassic Park 30th anniversary sets has plenty to enjoy, as we touched on in our visual guide. The minifigures are a particular standout, but it’s safe to say that some fans were disappointed with 75961 Visitor Center: T. rex & Raptor Attack. The entire wave is clearly geared towards younger builders (which is in no way a bad thing). However, it does mean that some of the detail and size that some might have wanted is missing.

u/Outrageous-Ad4353 took to Reddit to share their attempt to set the record straight, with their own build.

“If LEGO won’t release the visitor center scene I want…” wrote the Reddit user, before sharing images of a brick-built T-rex battling brightly-coloured raptors.

The build is, of course, a recreation of the iconic Visitor Centre scene from 1993’s Jurassic Park, when the formidable T-rex smashes through the building, leaving raptors in her wake. Here’s a reminder of the famous scene.

While the official moulded dinosaurs capture a lot of the cinematic details the unofficial brick-built creatures above are very impressive. However, we would imagine that such a piece count would significantly raise the price, while also reducing the attention given to the actual building. Perhaps one day we cane expect the LEGO Group to attempt such a feat, but for now, here’s a reminder of what official LEGO Jurassic Park sets are on their way.
