LEGO March 2024 buyers’ guide – new sets, minifigures, free gifts and more

The biggest LEGO shopping day of the year so far is nearly here, so here’s everything you need to know about the March 2024 releases – from new sets and minifigures to free gifts and more.

Wading through the huge batch of new LEGO sets dropping on March 1 is no mean feat, especially if you’re interested in several themes. And without an infinite LEGO budget, picking and choosing what to pick up and build day one – and what to save for later – is a struggle we all face.

To help you in your quest to organise your LEGO life, here’s a complete buyers’ guide to everything happening on March 1.

March 2024 LEGO sets

More than 50 brand new LEGO sets are dropping at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores on March 1, and many of those will likely be available through third-party retailers. Not all of them, though: 10332 Medieval Town Square in particular will remain locked to official LEGO channels for at least three months, and possibly forever if the LEGO Group’s other retro Icons sets are any indication.

Themes debuting new LEGO sets in March include Star Wars, Speed Champions, Technic, Harry Potter, NINJAGO, Disney, Animal Crossing and more. You can check out the entire rundown of new models by clicking here.

March 2024 LEGO minifigures

Included amongst those 50+ sets are a whole host of must-have minifigures, ranging from LEGO Star Wars’ 25th-anniversary characters – hello, Darth Malak and ARC Trooper Fives – to real-life icons in Ayrton Senna. There are also a few interesting new versions of previous minifigures to pick out from themes like Harry Potter and NINJAGO, while 10332 Medieval Town Square sees the return of another much-loved Classic Castle faction.

We’ve picked out eight of the best LEGO minifigures available from March 1 right here.

March 2024 LEGO free gifts

Three different free gifts are rumoured to be available from March 1 to 10 (or while stocks last). 40680 Flower Store – the first set in a new four-part series of microscale buildings, similar in concept to last year’s Houses of the World – is said to be free with all orders above £180 / $200, while 30662 Maple’s Pumpkin Garden and 30635 Beach Cleanup are believed to be free with a £45 / $50 spend on LEGO Animal Crossing, Creator, City, Friends and DREAMZzz sets.

We’ll find out for sure whether these rumours are true tomorrow, but the polybag bundle is at least already live in Australia, so signs are good that that one will be available worldwide.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
