LEGO Mario Kart’s highly-anticipated 40787 Spiny Shell is now available to redeem in the LEGO Insiders Rewards Centre – but only while stocks last.

You’ll need a bank of 2,500 points to claim your copy of 40787 Spiny Shell, which serves up a 234-piece recreation of Mario Kart’s iconic blue shell. Upon redemption at the Insiders Rewards Centre you’ll receive a code that can be entered at checkout at LEGO.com any time within the next 60 days. There’s no minimum spend for that order, so you could just buy a keychain – but you’ll still need to spend at least £50 in the UK to qualify for free delivery.

If you’re looking for an excuse to hit that threshold (and then some), there’s plenty of new stuff available at LEGO.com right now – from the May 1 Star Wars range to today’s trio of brand new releases, 72037 Mario & Standard Kart, 10360 Shuttle Carrier Aircraft and 31216 Keith Haring Dancing Figures.

Racking up 2,500 LEGO Insiders points requires a spend of around £312.50 at LEGO.com (or in the LEGO Store), and that amount of points can otherwise be redeemed for just over £15 off a future LEGO purchase. The question is whether or not 40787 Spiny Shell is worth that number of points to you – but given the high demand we’re seeing for this one across the web, best decide soon.
