LEGO Marvel rumour teases yet another Spider-Man: No Way Home set for 2024
The latest update to the list of LEGO Marvel sets currently rumoured for 2024 suggests yet another model based on Spider-Man: No Way Home could be swinging into stores.
This summer’s 76261 Spider-Man Final Battle tackles the spoilerrific climax of the web-slinger’s MCU threequel in style, but omits a couple of key characters (namely Lizard and Sandman, at least beyond a Sand-hand). The LEGO Group will apparently be making good on that in January with 76280 Spider-Man vs. Sandman: Final Battle, which is said to include a Lizard minifigure alongside Spidey, Electro and a brick-built Sandman.
According to exabrickslegogo_ (via mtdbricks), however, that won’t be the only Spider-Man: No Way Home set we see on shelves next year. The previously-reported 76298 Spider-Man Buildable Figure is now said to be based on the Integrated Suit worn by Tom Holland’s Peter Parker during the climactic battle atop the Statue of Liberty. In-universe, the black-and-red suit was created by fusing nanites from the Iron Spider suit with the Upgraded Suit.
We’ve already received a minifigure of that suit – or something close to it – in 76261 Spider-Man Final Battle, but 76298 Spider-Man Buildable Figure would presumably be a larger, brick-built version of the same thing, matching the style and format of last year’s 76225 Miles Morales Figure, 76226 Spider-Man Figure and 76230 Venom Figure. It’s one of at least two (but possibly three) more buildable characters rumoured for 2024.
The others are 76296 Sam Wilson Captain America Buildable Figure, which would tie in to the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World sequel, and 76284 Buildable Green Goblin. The latter was already rumoured to be inspired by the villain’s appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, which makes even more sense if the wall-crawler’s suit is also based on that movie.
