LEGO Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday minifigures are amazing

Brand-new LEGO Marvel minifigures have been unveiled for Avengers: Doomsday, bringing back rare characters and upgrading recent minifigures.

The LEGO Group has lifted the curtain on five upcoming Marvel models for Avengers: Doomsday, four of which have some of the theme's best minifigures in recent history. Across the three minifigure-scale models and 76345 Doctor Doom Bust, you'll find an assortment of revised minifigures and characters that are brand-new in minifigure form.

There are four minifigures in 76347 Avengers: Doomsday Quinjet, including Marvel Cinematic Universe Cyclops and shirtless The Thing. There are six minifigures in 76348 Epic Battle: Avengers: Doomsday, featuring multiple new X-Men minifigures, and there are another six in 76352 Avengers Doomsday: New Avengers Tower. The latter six mostly cover members of the New Avengers.

Overall, it's an astounding selection of Marvel minifigures across just three sets. There are printed legs across most of them, which is still fairly rare in LEGO Marvel. There's even a second Doctor Doom variant in 76345 Doctor Doom Bust with printed arms and some fabric tied around. Let the theories and speculation begin!

Some of these new Marvel minifigures are especially worthwhile. Doctor Doom has been missing from LEGO Marvel since 76005 Spider-Man: Daily Bugle Showdown retired in 2014. He will finally return in movie and comic minifigures as part of the new Doomsday sets and 76340 LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2026.

Both Mr. Fantastic and the Thing were featured in 76316 Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure. The former had unsatisfyingly long legs with a stilt-like assembly to place on them. The new version in 76348 Epic Battle: Avengers: Doomsday has longer minifigure legs, which is a clear improvement. He also has a new face print, which is more accurate to the character.

The Thing was depicted accurately with a shirt in that set, but he's embracing his more iconic shirtless look in 76347 Avengers: Doomsday Quinjet. Red Guardian in 76352 Avengers Doomsday: New Avengers Tower has only had one previous minifigure, and it was part of the US-exclusive 77905 Taskmaster's Ambush. Now everyone will have a chance to grab David Harbour's character in LEGO form.

Nightcrawler is also making his long-awaited minifigure debut after a tease in 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion. It may be based on a film rather than the comics, but he's sure to be a welcome sight for Marvel enthusiasts.

That's to say that the Doomsday sets are completely comprehensive. The new Falcon, U.S. Agent, Ghost and an updated Namor are some of the many characters that are missing as minifigures, but it seems unlikely that the LEGO Group will be stopping the Doomsday coverage here, though. Both Infinity War and Endgame received more sets with spoiler-filled content after the films were released.
