LEGO Minecraft 21276 The Creeper review
LEGO Minecraft 21276 The Creeper is one of the best LEGO Minecraft sets in years, offering something unique for the most dedicated fans.
The newest take on an upscaled LEGO Creeper figure offers something that no other build has been able to, while presenting great value and an engaging build that is all too refreshing for the most dedicated of LEGO Minecraft fans. This is one LEGO Minecraft set for all of us to consider picking up, and it won’t exactly break the bank either.

Despite the confusing scale on the box art, 21276 The Creeper is by far the biggest Creeper figure to date and won’t be to scale with any other LEGO Minecraft sets, unless your physical world is based on a modded server. 21276 The Creeper’s main build measures just over 21cm tall and dedicates almost all its 665 pieces towards the nearly-completely accurate Creeper recreation.
21276 The Creeper’s figure has a decent level of articulation, or at least as much as the creature has in the game, and it’s a surprisingly well-balanced model that can be placed into a fair few poses, ready for display. It’s less of a play-centric LEGO Minecraft set, seemingly aiming to be displayed on a desk next to you while you play the game.
The 2025 LEGO Minecraft set excels at this task, making use of one-stud tiles in a simple but effective way. This technique of recreating the pixel art of a Creeper means that this set provides an unfortunately repetitive build, but at least it’s not challenging.

This set is also hiding a secret… but one that’s spoiled on the box art. A strange version of a LEGO Minecraft pig minifigure is included in 21276 The Creeper, and longtime Minecraft players will know exactly what this is a reference to. The Creeper’s origins stem back to an incorrectly modelled pig, where coding made the body of the pink animal point upward rather than forward, keeping the other body parts facing the correct direction.
This created an unusually-shaped creature that was decided to be saved for future use, eventually forming the foundations of The Creeper. This pig has never appeared in-game otherwise, and a display-centric LEGO Minecraft set out of scale with the rest of the theme is the perfect and only place for such a niche reference.

Despite the piece count of 665 compared to the asking price of £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99, 21276 The Creeper isn’t quite as phenomenal value as it sounds. Many of the elements are smaller tiles, but a few larger parts are included as well to balance out for some great value overall. The number of smaller tiles makes it an especially refreshing build experience compared to most other LEGO Minecraft models.
This is an excellent model for LEGO Minecraft fans at a still reasonable price, depicting an icon of the game with an unparalleled level of accuracy. Even those only barely familiar with Minecraft will want to consider 21276 The Creeper for either its abundance of elements or as an iconic video game display model.
LEGO Minecraft Creeper figures comparison

Make no mistake, 21276 The Creeper is not to scale with any other LEGO Minecraft set. Even the previous upscaled creature figures are much smaller in scale than 21276. This presents an opportunity to pair the biggest Creeper figure yet with those smaller variants for a dynamic display.
Looking at the size of the 2025 Creeper next to that from 21281 Baby Pig’s Birthday Celebration, the new figure is at least double the height with entirely accurate pixel art, for the first time in a LEGO Creeper. While it will be hard to pair this with most other LEGO Minecraft sets, 21276 The Creeper is quite literally in a league of its own.
Our honest opinion: There are few video game creatures as iconic as the Creeper, and the mob finally has the LEGO Minecraft set it deserves, with a memorable Easter egg as the cherry on top. Don’t expect a LEGO Minecraft set like this again any time soon.
