LEGO partners with artists for NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity

LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity is coming next month and the LEGO Group has partnered with dozens of artists for some stunning artwork.

Alongside the release of a new wave of LEGO NINJAGO sets next month, a new spin-off series is almost here, focusing on a land of monsters and taking place before the Dragons Rising series.

The art style of the upcoming NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity series is far different to that of the main animated show, more closely resembling that of one of the 10th-anniversary shorts.

To celebrate this art style and promote the series ahead of it’s start next month, the LEGO Group has partnered with several artists for unique artwork based on Monstrosity.

This includes senior concept artist for the LEGO Group, Nikolaj Mårbjerg Severin, offering a more detailed take on Kai as he appears in the series. It’s one of several posters from all kinds of artists, celebrating the creative community while promoting the new series.

Rafael Gumboc’s take on NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity is more like something you would see in a manga novel, keeping the colour scheme from the trailer while offering a stylised perspective on the Fire Knight Mech.

These are just a couple of the many incredible artworks that the LEGO Group has commissioned to promote the series, most of which can be found on Instagram under the NINJAGOLegends and LEGONINJAGOLegends hashtags.

It’s a welcome sight after NINJAGO’s unfortunate brush with AI-generated artwork early last year and should help to increase the hype ahead of NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity’s release next month. A specific release date has not been confirmed at the time of writing.

Don’t forget that Monstrosity has two tie-in sets launching next month, as well. These are 71846 The Fire Knight Mech and 71847 The Guardian Dragon.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
