LEGO Minecraft to embrace Chicken Jockey meme this summer

The LEGO Group has revealed another LEGO Minecraft set for summer 2026, confirming that the theme will fully embrace the Chicken Jockey meme.

Whether it’s the debut of LEGO Shrek, a Luigi figure in a certain kart, Morbius, or a The Lord of the Rings reference, the LEGO Group and memes have gone hand in hand in recent years. That also extends to the LEGO Minecraft to embrace the Chicken Jockey meme this summer meme from The Minecraft Movie, of which The LEGO Group was right on time for following the film’s release last year.

21272 Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring was part of the limited A Minecraft Movie set range last year, both of which managed to capitalise on the film’s popular memes. For 21272 Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring, that meme was Steve shouting Chicken Jockey, even including an upscaled figure of the creature duo.

Since then, Chicken Jockeys have appeared at a much smaller scale in several sets. However, this summer, the meme is getting not one, but two models. After 21592 Chicken Jockey Desert Attack was revealed last week, the LEGO Group has now lifted the curtain on 21582 Chicken Jockey. These sets both depict the Chicken Jockey as buildable figures of various sizes, but it’s by far the most attention the meme has seen in theme yet.

It just so happens that 21582 Chicken Jockey also includes the redesigned chick as a figure, which is starting to become a meme of its own online, thanks to its simplified design.

21582 Chicken Jockey will be released this August for £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99, arriving on shelves one month after the rest of the summer 2026 wave. It’s available to pre-order now, though the only offers currently available are limited to LEGO Star Wars sets.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
