LEGO Minifigures Series 29 out now

The hunt is on for LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series 29’s 12 new characters, which are available online and in stores from today.

Among these dozen new and original minifigures are homages to BIONICLE and NINJAGO, an endless supply of new and interesting elements – such as a gunblade and fish skeleton – and a variety of animals, including a clownfish and unicorn. Check out the full list below.

  • BIONICLE Cosplayer
  • Mysterious Ronin
  • Chocolatier
  • Boba Cup Fan
  • Cute Witch
  • Football Goalkeeper
  • Unicorn Elf
  • Tuba Player
  • Trash Monster
  • Monster Hunter
  • Marine Biologist
  • Robot T. rex

The best way to get your hands on all 12 new minifigures (or even just those you’re after in particular) is by heading out to a physical store – whether that’s the LEGO Store, your local independent toy shop or just your nearest supermarket – armed with Brick Search’s minifigure scanner. These blind boxes all have unique codes on their base which can be used to identify the character inside.

Brick Search Plus members get unlimited use of the app’s minifigure scanner, which now has a brand new feature for Series 29: the minifigure checklist. While you’re using the scanner you can tap on a drop-down menu to keep track of which minifigures you’re after, and how many you’ve already found, so you’ll always know which characters you still need to find even while you’re busy scanning through dozens of boxes.

That’s in addition to the core functions of the scanner, which include the ability to scan minifigures offline – handy in a busy shopping centre where mobile signal is fleeting – and scan multiple boxes at once. Brick Search is ready to download on iOS or Android now.

If you’d rather take the gamble on which minifigures you receive, you can also order individual boxes of 71052 Series 29 directly from LEGO.com.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
