LEGO Ideas review answers the call to Classic Telephone
In a modern world of mobiles devices, does Classic Telephone have what it takes to stand out from the crowd in the first LEGO Ideas review of 2026?
The first LEGO Ideas review of 2026 is currently heading full steam towards 100 successful fan submissions, each of which has managed to clock up 10K supporters. That line-up of impressive builds has now been joined by Classic Telephone, a nostalgic device from a bygone age and the creation of Brick Dangerous.
The LEGO Ideas model has been assembled from 572 pieces and is intended to be an homage to the rich history of telecommunications. The designer notes that submission primarily draws its inspiration from iconic pedestal telephones of the early 20th century, attempting to capture its robustness, elegance and ‘the promise of connecting distant worlds.’
Classic Telephone boasts warm brown tones for its main structure, which are then accented with a selection of golden elements to suggest a brass sheen and recreate the luxurious and durable materials used in such original devices.
The LEGO Ideas build also features a 100% functional rotary dial, which can be turned by hand to select each number, as well as a coiled cable connecting the handset to its accompanying base unit.
Whether or not Classic Telephone has what it takes to receive a full LEGO set remains to be seen, with the results of the first review of 2026 not due to be rung in until later this year.
