The first LEGO Ideas review of 2026 blooms with Black Lotus
The latest LEGO Ideas submission to make it into the first review of 2026 takes its cue from the most valuable Magic: The Gathering card of all time.
The first LEGO Ideas review of 2026 has grown once again today, this time due to the addition of a unique botanical build courtesy of Jugles that’s just hit 10K. Black Lotus takes its cue from the Magic: The Gathering collectible card game published by Wizards of the Coast and offers up a striking version of its flora namesake.
The LEGO Ideas fan submission has been constructed using just 464 pieces and is intended to be a diorama display that shows off the plant blooming on the battlefield following a battle, complete with a brick-built skeletal hand clawing at the ground.
The original Magic: The Gathering’s Black Lotus is the most iconic, powerful and valuable card released to date, with a pristine 10-grade Alpha version having sold for a whopping $3 million back in 2024.
The LEGO Ideas creation takes its inspiration from the card’s distinctive artwork, which was drawn by Christopher Rush, and only a handful of the highly-sought after Magic: The Gathering collectible are said to exist, earning it a near-legendary status amongst fans of the game.
It’s way too really to say if Black Lotus will continue to flourish in the first LEGO Ideas review of 2026, but for now it joins 93 other fan creations all battling it out to become physical sets at some point down the road.
