PlayStation 1 reaches LEGO Ideas review at unfortunate time

A PlayStation 1 project has rushed to the first 2026 LEGO Ideas review in two months, but it has some unfortunate timing given recent rumours.

The latest update to LEGO Ideas’ current review round has seen three more submissions join the fray. They cover gaming, animation and animals, all of which have been covered in LEGO Ideas before. One of them has an incredibly low chance of being selected, though, provided recent rumours are accurate.

Here’s a look at the latest trio of submissions to join the first 2026 LEGO Ideas review.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1987

TrumanBricks just can’t stop getting projects in review rounds. The fan designer behind 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night and the upcoming Power Rangers set is now proposing a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles diorama.

The proposal includes a multi-storey playset depicting a New York street and the sewer home of the turtles. The Shellraiser and Krang are featured as side builds, and eight minifigures are proposed overall. The LEGO Group’s TMNT partnership has been renewed with the reveal of 40878 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Figures.

Flamingo & Seagull

DerWalfisch’s first project to reach 10,000 supporters proposes another animal-based build with a water scene, similar to 21366 Floating Sea Otters. The build features a Flamingo and a Seagull, as the name suggests, elegantly posed in a natural scene.

Birds and nature models have seen plenty of success on LEGO Ideas. Whether this model has a chance at becoming an official set has yet to be seen.

PlayStation 1

The most unfortunate project to reach 10,000 supporters in this update is PlayStation 1 by AirBricks95. The console recreation is made up of 1,141 and depicts both the console itself with moving parts, as well as a controller that can be attached to the console.

It’s a good-looking build and would be suitable for an official LEGO Ideas set following in the footsteps of the previous SEGA, Nintendo and Atari console models. The bad news for this fan designer is that such a set is rumoured for later this year. Provided that the rumour is accurate, the LEGO Ideas team is unlikely to pick a project covering something already planned for the portfolio.

It has still made it to the first 2026 review, though, and now sits alongside 64 other submissions.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
