LEGO Monkie Kid’s 2024 collectible elements have been revealed

A new set of collectible elements will be included in four upcoming LEGO Monkie Kid models that are due for release this summer.

Last week, thanks to an online retailer and the official Building Instructions page, we got our first glimpse at four new LEGO Monkie Kid sets being released in 2024. 80055 Monkie Kid’s Team Power Truck, 80056 Nine-Headed Beast, 80057 Nezha’s Ring of Fire Mech and 80058 Celestial Pagoda are all expected to launch on June 1, although full listings have yet to go live.

In addition to offering LEGO Monkie Kid fans a new mech, a large-scale location, unique vehicles and striking villains (including The Nine-Headed Demon and The 100-Eyed Demon), this summer’s builds are once again adding another extra level of collectability.

In 2023, five LEGO Monkie Kid models included special golden pieces that could be combined together to form a powerful weapon, a similar concept already exploited by previous LEGO NINJAGO sets. This time around, the four upcoming LEGO Monkie Kid builds will contain a special Colour Stone situated somewhere within each model.

For instance, the green Colour Stone can be spotted attached to a rock in 80055 Monkie Kid’s Team Power Truck, the red Colour Stone receives its own dedicated mini temple in 80056 Nine-Headed Beast, the purple Colour Stone seems to be powering 80057 Nezha’s Ring of Fire Mech and all three (plus the blue and yellow Colour Stones) appear in 80058 Celestial Pagoda.

In addition, the front of the 80058 Celestial Pagoda box reveals all five Colour Stones combined and attached to a flying Nüwa. In Chinese mythology, the stones were used by the goddess Nüwa to mend the damaged pillars of Heaven following a catastrophic event, although in the lore of the Monkie Kid animated show, the black and white stones have been swapped for purple and green.

The branding for each upcoming LEGO Monkie Kid box also shows the theme’s title character reaching for one of the stones, with the colour of each changing according to which piece is included with that specific model.

We’ll hopefully know more about the Colour Stones once the official listings for the LEGO Monkie Kid summer 2024 wave go live, complete with international prices, piece counts and release dates.
