First LEGO NINJAGO 2024 sets include six mechs, two dragons and a temple

The LEGO Group is coming down with a serious case of mech mania in 2024, as the first details on next year’s LEGO NINJAGO line-up include no fewer than six different mechs.

NINJAGO has long felt like a spiritual successor to mech-based theme Exo-Force, but the range is apparently going full tilt on its armoured suits in 2024. That’s according to product listings from price comparison site brickmerge.de, which has shared the first word on what to expect from the long-running in-house theme at the beginning of next year.

A total of 13 different sets are apparently on the way between January and March, consisting of six mechs, three gliders, two dragons, a buggy and a temple. Those are pretty much all NINJAGO staples, perhaps with the exception of the gliders – though for their price points, they basically sound like a new spin (if you’ll forgive the pun) on the theme’s spinners.

Five different mechs of various sizes are said to be launching in January, meanwhile, with the sixth and biggest mech – 71812 Kai’s Ninja Climbing Mech – debuting in March. The most expensive set for 2024 so far is 71819 Dragonstone Temple, which will apparently retail for €119.99, while Dragons Rising character Riyu may be getting their own small character build in 71810 Riyu the Baby Dragon.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
