LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity brings new sets to life

Another new LEGO NINJAGO series is coming as NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity is bringing upcoming sets to life with stunning animation.

Earlier this year, a LEGO NINJAGO writer teased a NINJAGO spin-off series, and now we know precisely what he was teasing and when we’ll be able to watch it. The first trailer for LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity is now available to watch by clicking the embedded video below..

Kai’s story before being reunited with the team after the Merge will be explored in LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity. The new animated series is coming to the official LEGO YouTube channel in June 2025, and you might spot some familiar models in the trailer.

Both 71846 The Fire Knight Mech and 71847 The Guardian Dragon are based on NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity, confirming that both builds are fully-fledged characters in the series, who have also been trying to survive in the Land of Monsters. Notably, the Fire Knight Mech suggests that he served another Elemental Master of fire, who is now deceased.

The animation in the trailer is familiar but refreshing for NINJAGO, and it’s undoubtedly a stunning effort from the animation team, even with the higher standards that have come with Dragons Rising.

In one day, the trailer has already managed to reach more than half of what the official trailer for the third season of Dragons Rising has so far. That’s an impressive effort, especially considering that it’s nearly topped the view count for Golden Legend – a short from the 10th anniversary of the theme, which used the same animation style.

71846 The Fire Knight Mech and 71847 The Guardian Dragon will be released on June 1, 2025, for £109.99 / $119.99 / €119.99 and £139.99 / $149.99 / €149.99 respectively. Both have an exclusive poster in the box and a display base. NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity is coming in June, but an exact release date has yet to be confirmed.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
