LEGO 71049 Collectible Race Cars impress fans and drivers alike
LEGO 71049 F1 Collectible Race Cars might not be to everyone’s taste, but they’re appealing to many fans and drivers alike so far.
There’s no doubt that 71049 F1 Collectible Race Cars is an unexpected departure from the usual trio of LEGO Collectible Minifigures series each year, drifting away from minifigures almost entirely and offering up some small LEGO Formula 1 cars instead.
The 12 cars represent the 10 current teams as well as two cars for Formula 1 and Formula 1 Academy. Searching across the likes of Reddit, X and TikTok, many have shared positive reactions to the cars, praising their cute appearance. That includes Monsieur_Greenhorn, who states, “The more I see these little cars, the more I like them.”
Alanna on X pointed out that they’re the perfect accompaniment to the race later today, and for £3.49 / $3.99 / €3.99 each, they’re by far the most affordable LEGO Formula 1 set currently available for some pre-race (or during) building.
BackwoodsDiecast discovered that the new 71049 F1 Collectible Race Cars are perfectly sized to fit on the iconic Hot Wheels track, in case you want to mix toys for the ultimate race. Whether this was intentional or not from the designers is unknown.
