New LEGO Star Wars 75428 Battle Droid with STAP revealed

It’s Star Wars Day, and the LEGO Group is celebrating by revealing the new LEGO Star Wars 75428 Battle Droid with STAP, coming this summer.

The LEGO Group has one more surprise up its sleeve after the start of the May the 4th deals earlier this week, lifting the curtain on the new and huge 75428 Battle Droid with STAP for Star Wars Day.

The 1,088-piece LEGO Star Wars set offers up another buildable droid by recreating the iconic tan prequel trilogy droid, riding on a giant STAP vehicle. The new set launches on July 1, 2025, for £119.99 / $139.99 / €129.99.

The STAP is held up on a display stand with an informative plaque and a minifigure-scale version of the droid and vehicle. While the huge STAP is impressive, the Battle Droid that pilots it is worth looking at individually as well, since it can detach from the STAP.

The giant LEGO Battle Droid can stand on its own and hold an included blaster, which can, in turn, be carried on its back when piloting the STAP. The potential for posing with 75428 Battle Droid with STAP is immense, and the tan-coloured joint elements help with the immersion.

The new 75428 Battle Droid with STAP has been revealed for Star Wars Day 2025 and includes a single Battle Droid minifigure. While it’s not a great army-building set, it will look incredible on display when it launches on July 1 for £119.99 / $139.99 / €129.99.

In the meantime, there’s plenty of recent LEGO Star Wars sets available to qualify for the current array of May the 4th gifts-with-purchase. Click here for more information on how the LEGO Group is celebrating Star Wars Day.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
