LEGO Pokémon smart brick Pikachu rumoured for 2026
Smart brick functionality might be included with a LEGO Pokémon Pikachu set next year, if the latest rumours prove to be true.
Pokémon will be celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2026, with multiple licensees already lined up to deliver plenty of products to eager fans. One of those is the LEGO Group, which has a multi-year deal in place with the Pokémon Company, with sets based on the catch ’em all craze due to arrive sometime in the coming months.
Now comes a fresh LEGO Pokémon rumour from the usually-reliable Instagram user lego_minecraft_goat (via BrickTap) that throws more fuel onto the fire. As well as new details regarding two existing potential models, some surprising functionality is said to be included with another addition to next-year’s line-up from the highly-anticipated theme.
For starters, 72151 Eevee is said to be an 18+ set that may consist of 587 pieces and be priced at $59.99 / €59.99. Then there’s 72152 Pikachu and Poké Ball, another 18+ build, with the model apparently including 2,050 pieces for $199.99 / €199.99.
Those two LEGO Pokémon releases are now rumoured to be arriving as part of what’s allegedly codenamed ‘Project Squirrel’ in March 2026, despite previous suggestions that they might potentially launch on February 27, otherwise known as Pokémon Day.
In addition, a second LEGO Pikachu set is reported to be on the way later next year, with the model said to include its own smart brick. No other hints have been forthcoming so far, but the option to possibly add light, sounds and other abilities to a LEGO Pokémon would seem to suggest a very unique and appealing build indeed.
First details of an updated LEGO smart brick popped up last year, initially tied to a line-up of LEGO City sets. While that interactive element and those models have yet to appear, that theme’s loss might well prove to be LEGO Pokémon’s gain.
However, as with all such rumours, do treat the latest LEGO Pokémon information with a pinch of salt for now until we know more.
