LEGO Pokémon should be the start of a long-awaited friendship

The LEGO Group has confirmed a LEGO Pokémon theme for 2026, starting a long-awaited friendship that could be the biggest news of next year.

Fans have been waiting for LEGO Pokémon for nearly three decades and just in time for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, the hundreds of adorable and amazing creatures are getting their own LEGO theme in 2026.

While details on what to expect are light right now, we can at least speculate on what’s to come next year, with Matthew taking the lead in our latest YouTube video. It should help to pass the months until 2026 is here and LEGO Pokémon with it.

With any luck, the LEGO Group will learn some lessons from Super Mario, Animal Crossing and Legend of Zelda with a mix of models for everyone from minifigure collectors to younger fans with less of a LEGO budget. Right now, we only know that LEGO Pokémon is coming next year.
