LEGO shares staggering Build to Give update
After another festive season of the LEGO Group’s #BuildToGive initiative in 2022, the company has shared an update on the campaign’s progress.
2022 marked the sixth year of the LEGO Group’s charitable holiday initiative, where building anything from LEGO elements and sharing it on social media using the hashtag #BuildToGive means the company will gift a LEGO set to a child in need of play across 25 countries. Last year’s theme was gifting, so participants were encouraged to build creations themed to gifting – but that could be anything.
Now that a few weeks have passed since #BuildToGive, the LEGO Group has shared an update on how many sets have been gifted as part of the initiative. Since 2017, a massive 6,500,000 LEGO sets have been gifted to children in hospitals, care homes, and other vulnerable communities.
2022 also saw Katy Perry take part in the campaign as part of her holiday season collaboration with the LEGO Group. She also took part in a Christmas-themed advert and various funny videos with children centred around building LEGO sets.

- I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
