LEGO Shrek minifigures, BrickHeadz and more rumoured for 2026

The LEGO Group’s Shrek problem may finally have found a solution, with multiple releases based on the DreamWorks IP rumoured for 2026.

While there’s been no shortage of rejected LEGO Ideas submissions inspired by Shrek in the past few years, fans of DreamWorks’ embittered green ogre may finally be getting what they’ve been hoping for this year. Fresh rumours from several sources suggest that a LEGO Shrek theme might indeed see the light of day in 2026, although do treat the following with caution for now.

For starters, Instagram user Maxbautde is reporting that 71053 Shrek is pencilled in for launch on September 1, with a selection of collectible LEGO Minifigures presumably based on at least some of the more well-known characters appearing in the four animated DreamWorks movies to date, priced at $4.99 / €3.99 per blind box.

In addition, more LEGO Shrek sets are also rumoured to be on the way at some point later this year in the shape of LEGO BrickHeadz 40923 Shrek and Donkey, as well as 72423 Buildable Shrek and Donkey. The latter is said to be a 1,403-piece model of the comedy duo possibly priced at $159.99, which may potentially launch on June 1, a date mentioned by Brick Clicker.

Other LEGO Shrek builds are also reported to likely be making any appearance in 2026 too, but no further details have been forthcoming on those so far.

As usual, all the above remains pure rumour until such time as any of the LEGO Shrek sets are officially confirmed, so do treat this information with a pinch of salt for now.
