LEGO Space: 1978-1992 book revealed by Dark Horse

A new LEGO book has been revealed ready for release later this year with a nostalgic collection of Classic Space models to explore.

LEGO Space: 1978-1992 has been officially revealed by Dark Horse Books. Written by Tim Johnson, the book covers the history of LEGO Space with an exploration of the events that helped shape it – from cultural to world events.

Notably, the book includes statistics and trivia for each set from across almost two decades, insight into the LEGO Group and a celebration of LEGO designers. It could be a good coffee table book for LEGO Space enthusiasts.

You can pick it up in bookstores from October 17, 2023, and in comic shops from October 18, 2023, for $49.99. The pricing suggests that it is only currently confirmed for the US though LEGO books traditionally appear in other regions at the same time or shortly after launch.

This appears to be the LEGO Group’s first collaboration with Dark Horse Comics, though LEGO Space: 1978-1992 is the only product confirmed as part of the press release. Still, it may be interesting to see where this partnership heads next.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
