LEGO Speed Champions 2024 sets revealed

An online retailer has revealed three new LEGO Speed Champions sets racing on to shelves in 2024, adding new motors from BMW, Ford and Audi to the theme’s ever-growing garage.

Update: The LEGO Group has now published listings for all three LEGO Speed Champions 2024 sets. Release dates below have been corrected from their initial dates of January 1 published by JB Spielwaren.

At least two single LEGO Speed Champions cars and one double-pack are arriving in 2024, with at least one more still rumoured to be on the way. All of the newly-revealed sets have received a price bump compared to equivalent models from 2023, with the single cars rising from €24.99 to €26.99, and the two-pack jumping up from €44.99 to €49.99. Check out all three new eight-stud-wide sets below.

76920 Ford Mustang Dark Horse

Price: €26.99 Pieces: 344 Release date: March 1, 2024

Recreating a car that will only hit the road for the first time in 2024, 76920 Ford Mustang Dark Horse is the most modern LEGO Speed Champions Mustang yet. The real-life car packs a V8 engine with 500 horsepower, while the LEGO version squeezes in 344 pieces and very few stickers. So they’re both powerhouses of their respective worlds, then.

76921 Audi S1 e-tron quattro

Price: €26.99 Pieces: 274 Release date: March 1, 2024

Keeping the focus firmly on the here and now, 76921 Audi S1 e-tron quattro is a spiritual successor to 2020’s 76897 1985 Audi Sport quattro S1, and is based on a one-of-a-kind real-life car driven by motorsports legend Ken Block. LEGO Speed Champions has never been quite so firmly about building cars you will never actually get the chance to drive.

76922 BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8

Price: €49.99 Pieces: 676 Release date: March 1, 2024

2024’s LEGO Speed Champions two-pack marks BMW’s long-awaited debut in the theme with a couple of very recent racers, completing an initial line-up that’s surprisingly forward-thinking. (Previous LEGO Speed Champions waves have at least dipped their toes into the pool of classic cars.) Both of these motors have distinctive red, white, blue and black aesthetics that look to rely heavily on stickers for their unusual paint jobs.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
