LEGO Star Wars 75371 Chewbacca debuts major change for smaller plaques

LEGO Star Wars 75371 Chewbacca has debuted a major change, eschewing stickers entirely even in the smaller plaques.

While 75371 Chewbacca isn’t exactly an Ultimate Collectors Series, it does include an informative plaque – much like the ones that the LEGO Group has previously promised will be printed in future LEGO Star Wars sets in the collection, then implemented with a mould mark (that should be fixed in the future). The first reviews of 75371 Chewbacca have revealed this huge change is not just limited to the more expensive models.

Previous models that have used a similar size of plaque including 75318 The Child and 75335 BD-1 have featured stickers for these displayable items, though that’s no longer the case in 75371 Chewbacca and it seems likely that this is linked to the change introduced to the Ultimate Collector Series’ plaques.

The print itself seems to be of good quality and it also means that you likely won’t need to apply the larger stickers to these smaller UCS-style models in the future.

7371 Chewbacca is available from September 1, 2023, for £179.99 / $209.99 / €199.99 with pre-orders open now. The printed plaque was revealed in its initial images from San Diego Comic-Con 2023, but it’s good to have it confirmed after those images proved to be partially inaccurate.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
