LEGO Star Wars advent calendar recreates iconic Christmas album cover
The upcoming LEGO Star Wars 75418 Advent Calendar appears to be paying homage to a classic 1980 Lucasfilm album, Christmas in the Stars.
Included in last week’s mountain of upcoming LEGO set releases for summer 2025 were a selection of advent calendars based around the Star Wars, Disney, Harry Potter, Minecraft, City and Friends themes. Of those, 75418 Advent Calendar will undoubtedly be the annual highlight for many fans of a brick-built galaxy far, far away.
At first glance, the box art and interior contents of 75418 Advent Calendar may seem pretty standard fare. A selection of exclusive LEGO Star Wars minifigures (although only two are included this year), a few droid figures and a handful of mini-builds.

However, a closer look at 75418 Advent Calendar reveals that the set may have taken its inspiration from an unusual source and the only festive Star Wars album to date, Christmas in the Stars.
Released in 1980 by RSO Records, the album featured a festive of Star Wars-themed songs and stories about a droid factory where toys are made all year round for a certain ‘S. Claus’. The majority of the record is sung by Anthony Daniels (C-3PO) himself, with accompanying sound effects from the likes of R2-D2 and Chewbacca.

In addition, the cover illustration for Christmas in the Stars was painted by legendary concept artist, Ralph McQuarrie, and then reused for the official Lucasfilm holiday card in the same year.
It seems to be that very same artwork that 75418 Advent Calendar may be drawing some of its inspiration from, with the LEGO Star Wars set’s box art featuring a cosy workshop, complete with open fireplace, droid parts hanging from an overhead rack and Christmas wreaths hung on the wall.
Inside 75418 Advent Calendar is a more updated take on the classic holiday scene, with LEGO Star Wars fans able to assemble droidsmith Babu Frik’s workshop from a series of connectible mini-builds, plus a tiny figure of the character too, as well as a buildable Jawa vehicle and crane.

Babu Frik’s appearance in The Rise of Skywalker featured the Anzellan’s workshop, which was where the character kept his extensive stash of spare droid parts for reapirs and modifications, such as the reprogrammed and red-eyed C-3PO minifigure, which is also included in the Christmas set.
LEGO Star Wars 75418 Advent Calendar will launch on September 1, 2025, priced at £29.99 / $44.99 / €34.99, with pre-orders yet to go live.
