LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star rumoured to include record number of minifigures

This year’s rumoured $1,000 LEGO Star Wars UCS Death Star is said to include a record number of minifigures, surpassing even 76269 Avengers Tower.

That LEGO Marvel model comes with 32 characters, and currently holds the crown for the most minifigures in a traditional LEGO set. But in the latest episode of his podcast Cantina Klatsch, reliable rumour source Max Baut suggests that 75419 Death Star will include somewhere in the region of 40 minifigures (as reposted by StoneWars).

Given the hefty price tag attached to 75419 Death Star – which is said to arrive on shelves in October as 2025’s flagship LEGO Star Wars set – it’s perhaps no surprise that it could break another record for the LEGO Group as a whole. And while the community has speculated since the news first broke on which direction the set might take, it now seems all the more likely to be a spiritual successor to 10188 Death Star.

That is to say that the model will presumably feature a spread of vignettes and scenes from across both A New Hope and Return of the Jedi, and therefore both Death Stars, in order to justify including so many minifigures. Focusing on just one movie or Death Star doesn’t seem like it would offer up a sufficient number of characters – after all, 10188 Death Star only reached 24 total across the two films.

If this rumour is true, we can probably expect 75419 Death Star to use the line-up from 10188 Death Star (and its re-release 75159 Death Star) as a starting point. That pretty much covers all the major bases from both movies already, but an extra sprinkling of Imperial Officers and droids could bolster the count – as could a scene or two from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, to give the set excuse to include Director Krennic and a couple of Death Troopers, for example.

It’s worth noting that Max’s wording does sound slightly speculative in places, but he notes that the only non-human character (aside from droids, presumably) likely to be included is Chewbacca – which suggests he does have a rough idea of who we can expect to see in the $1,000 set. Still, best to take this update with the usual grain of salt…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

it won’t be $1000.
It will be $999.99

And hopefully Death Star Ii with opening panels or separate dioramas, not just a playset

Not impressed by the minifigure selection considering they all look like duplicates with minimal details. Quantity over quality.
