LEGO Star Wars helmets return – but one thing is missing
LEGO Star Wars helmets are seemingly back, but something big is missing after earlier this year, when they seemingly switched to busts.
It seemed earlier this year that with 75438 Yoda Bust and 75439 Darth Vader Bust, LEGO Star Wars had followed LEGO Marvel and made the switch from helmets to busts. However, with 75458 Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver Helmet scheduled for release on June 1, the subtheme appears to be alive and well. There is still a notable absence from the set now that we’ve seen what busts can do – an included minifigure.

No LEGO Star Wars helmet has ever come with a minifigure, and that was acceptable until we knew that minifigures were an option with these display models. Eschewing one means perceived lower set costs, and dedicated fans are likely to already own minifigures of Darth Vader and other key characters.
However, when it comes to sets such as 75349 Captain Rex Helmet and 75350 Clone Commander Cody Helmet, where the rarer minifigures became more desirable, the situation changes. A lack of minifigures starts to feel like a missed opportunity, unlike the Star Wars busts.
The LEGO Group began including minifigures in helmet sets earlier this year. 11373 The Lord of the Rings: Sauron’s Helmet hit shelves in March and surprisingly featured the sought-after Sauron minifigure. On May 1, 43014 Scuderia Ferrari HP Charles Leclerc Helmet and 43022 Scuderia Ferrari HP Lewis Hamilton Helmet arrived, showing that Sauron was not a one-off, and helmet sets can now include minifigures.

As LEGO Star Wars had seemingly made the switch to busts, it may have been frustrating to see that just as the LEGO Group began doing something they had been asking for, it appeared to only benefit other themes instead.
However, the helmet subtheme is at least back in LEGO Star Wars, but still without a minifigure. 75458 Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver Helmet has no such minifigure of the character, though you can find one in 75444 AT-RT Attack for £39.99 / $44.99 / €44.99.
Before the 2026 change, it would have been nice if minifigures were included in the Star Wars helmet, but now that other themes’ helmets are benefiting from them, LEGO Star Wars feels especially lacking.

It could be that the sets for The Mandalorian and Grogu movie were decided before the decision to switch to busts, or the decision to include minifigures in other helmet sets was made. Whatever the case, LEGO Star Wars’ newest helmet is still lacking a minifigure compared to other themes, and such a minifigure does exist.
75458 Imperial Remnant AT-RT Driver Helmet is available to pre-order now for £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99 from LEGO.com ahead of its June 1 release date. Those who prefer a helmet that includes a minifigure can pick up 43014 Scuderia Ferrari HP Charles Leclerc Helmet or 43022 Scuderia Ferrari HP Lewis Hamilton Helmet now for £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99. Alternatively, 11373 The Lord of the Rings: Sauron’s Helmet is also available with a minifigure for £64.99 / $69.99 / €74.99.
