LEGO Star Wars magazine Issue 90 recreates a retiring set

Issue 90 of the LEGO Star Wars magazine arrives on shelves in the UK later this week, bringing with it a buildable mini-model of a retiring Mandalorian set.

75315 Imperial Light Cruiser is leaving shelves this month, and is currently temporarily out of stock at LEGO.com in the UK and Europe (and sold out in the US). If you’ve missed your chance at grabbing the biggest incarnation of Moff Gideon’s ship from Season 2 of The Mandalorian, you can at least console yourself with the microscale version in the latest LEGO Star Wars magazine.

Available from all good supermarkets, newsagents and retailers across the UK this week, Issue 90 of Immediate Media’s officially-licensed mag reverts to a free mini-model following last month’s Princess Leia minifigure. Consisting of 39 pieces, the tiny cruiser is probably the most intensely grey LEGO Star Wars model we’ve had in a while, and that’s saying something.

Inside the mag you’ll find the usual assortment of comics, posters, activities and puzzles, all aimed at a much younger audience than anyone reading this story right now. If you don’t want to drop the issue straight into the recycling, you can always palm it off on a younger family member. Just scribble out the bit that says ‘free LEGO’ first, so they don’t ask where it is.

The next issue of the LEGO Star Wars magazine – on shelves from mid-January – includes a minifigure of Luke Skywalker in his Hoth fatigues, as seen in 75298 AT-AT vs. Tauntaun Microfighters and 75340 LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar.

Double VIP points are now available across the board at LEGO.com. Head over using one of our affiliate links to earn twice as many points on every purchase through December 13.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
