My top LEGO Star Wars May the 4th recommendations

May the 4th is a great time to pick up LEGO Star Wars sets on sale, and here are the discounted models I recommend adding to your collection.

Whether through Brick Fanatics reviews or personal purchases, I’ve already acquired several of the LEGO Star Wars models that are currently on sale as part of this year’s May the 4th deals. While I don’t intend to pick these sets up a second time, I can at least use my knowledge of these models to recommend them to you.

You can stay up to date on what is currently on offer and in stock on our dedicated May the 4th page throughout the event, with several updates a day. Otherwise, read on to see what I personally recommend from the UK LEGO Star Wars sales.

75440 AT-AT

RRP: £59.99 Discounted price: £42.74 at Amazon

LEGO Star Wars 75440 AT AT featured 1

The easiest recommendation I can offer is for 75440 AT-AT. Even at £59.99 for 525 pieces, I came away astounded by this LEGO Star Wars release earlier this year. I’m a huge fan of anything microscale, or midi-scale in this case, and while I was initially nervous about this collection deviating from starships, it was the right choice.

75440 AT-AT is something special for the RRP and looks fantastic on display, filled with thoughtful references too. That’s why Amazon UK’s discount, taking the set to £42.74, is easy for me to recommend. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for more midi-scale walkers in the future, but don’t miss out on this model in the meantime.

75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder

RRP: £44.99 Discounted price: £31.30 at Amazon

Another LEGO Star Wars set which I have had the pleasure of reviewing is 75414 The Force Burner Snowspeeder. The 349-piece model has a pricey RRP of £34.99, but comes with three minifigures. While those minifigures are good, my favourite part of this model was the unique colour scheme and excellent build on the Snowspeeder.

At £31.30 at Amazon, this model has suddenly become much more appealing, and it’s worth picking up to experience the amazing Snowspeeder build alone. It may have a more outlandish colour scheme than it should, but embrace that whimsy in a theme full of grey vehicles.

75437 Cobb Vanth’s Speeder

RRP: £24.99 Discounted price: £17.20 at Amazon

Speaking of grey vehicles, 75437 Cobb Vanth’s Speeder is anything but. It’s the most affordable LEGO Star Wars set on this list, with two minifigures and a decent speeder build for the RRP of £24.99. Those two minifigures are excellent and unlikely to appear in a more affordable model in the future.

You can currently pick up 75437 Cobb Vanth’s Speeder for £17.20, adding some colour to your wider collection in the form of a great speeder build, which can be downsized with fan-made alternate builds online, if it’s too big.

75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter

RRP: £34.99 Discounted price: £25 at John Lewis

LEGO Star Wars 75388 Jedi Bobs Starfighter featured

There’s something special about 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter. This set is one of the first Rebuild the Galaxy models, demonstrating just how deep this series would be willing to go into LEGO history and the LEGO Star Wars community. A big part of this model’s appeal is the exclusive Jedi Bob minifigure, and for good reason. There have been few LEGO Star Wars minifigures quite like this, and it’s nothing short of a must-have for hardcore LEGO Star Wars fans.

The rest of the model, which has an RRP of £34.99, has a lot to enjoy as well. The traditional Jedi starfighter design has been remixed with something that may be familiar, and the build has been well-designed and thought out. There’s even a slot for the SR-V0 droid. You can find this set at John Lewis for £25, and you don’t want to miss it.

75401 Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor

RRP: £39.99 Discounted price: £29.99 at John Lewis

lego star wars 75401 ahsokas jedi interceptor lifestyle featured

I grew up watching The Clone Wars and have a fondness for any LEGO Star Wars set featuring Ahsoka. I have quite a few of the original Clone Wars sets with those oddly huge eyes, and was pleased to see the LEGO Group return to the series in 75401 Ahsoka’s Jedi Interceptor. With two minifigures and 290 pieces, I was disappointed to see the model priced at £39.99 and decided to wait for it to drop, eventually picking it up for £29.99.

That just so happens to be exactly what it has been discounted to at John Lewis during their May the 4th deals. It’s much easier to justify the model and these minifigures at that price, helping to round out a Clone Wars tribute display. That’s not to mention the young Ahsoka minifigure without huge eyes.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
