LEGO Star Wars midi-scale ships include a secret surprise inside

There’s a secret surprise to be found hiding within two of the recently revealed LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary midi-scale ships.

A trio of LEGO Star Wars midi-scale sets were officially revealed earlier this week as part of the commencement of the theme’s 25th anniversary celebrations. 75375 Millennium Falcon, 75376 Tantive IV and 75377 Invisible Hand are all available to pre-order now and will ship from March 1, 2024, alongside 75379 R2-D2 and 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV.

All three craft offer up detailed versions of some of the most iconic vessels from the Star Wars saga, complete with display stands, printed name plaques and 25th anniversary bricks. As well as being faithful to their source material (despite their reduced size), two of the LEGO Star Wars sets also contain a fun hidden surprise lurking within.

New images of the midi-scale builds posted by online retailer JB Spielwaren show the interiors of both 75375 Millennium Falcon and 75376 Tantive IV, revealing a number of iconic Star Wars characters inside each set. Although they’ve only been recreated in tiny three and two-stud form, it’s possible to make out brick-built versions of what look to be Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2.

A pair of two-stud Star Wars characters last appeared in 40591 Death Star II, with 2023’s May the Fourth GWP featuring a fold-down panel that revealed a scaled version of the Emperor’s throne room, complete with simplified iterations of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.

We don’t yet know if 75377 Invisible Hand will also include its own tiny stud characters, we’d like think General Grievous would be the logical choice, but we’ll be keeping an eye out for more images of the LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary set to see if that is indeed the case.
