LEGO Star Wars promo clip with R2-D2 removed from LEGO.com

The promo clip that accidentally showed what may be a new Ultimate Collector Series R2-D2 set has been removed from the official online LEGO store, meaning this may have been an unintentional reveal after all.

If you were to visit the LEGO.com page for 75306 Imperial Probe Droid a few days ago, you would have been greeted by a promo clip cycling through some lifestyle sequences, one of which accidentally featured the domed head of what might be an unrevealed R2-D2 model. However, that clip is now missing from the page.

It’s not uncommon for promotional LEGO videos to include sets other than the subject material, with the recent 75304 Darth Vader Helmet featuring all the LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection. But this time, the LEGO Group seemed to have jumped the gun, realised their mistake and removed the promotional video.

If you haven’t seen the clip, you can see our original story for a sneak peek at what could be an upcoming Ultimate Collector Series R2-D2 model, and it may return to the webpage following an official reveal for it.

It might also be that the LEGO Group will simply edit the video to not include the shot that reveals the droid, then reupload it to the site for anyone to see, without potentially spoiling the future of LEGO Star Wars

With May the Fourth on the horizon, an official reveal might be on the way, so we’ll keep you updated on all the latest LEGO Star Wars news as we approach the big day. In the meantime, the full LEGO Star Wars Helmet collection is available to buy or pre-order
