LEGO Star Wars ship may return for The Mandalorian movie
A LEGO Star Wars ship has a chance at returning in the inevitable The Mandalorian & Grogu sets, thanks to a tease in a theme park ride of all places.
Disney shared limited details about The Mandalorian & Grogu at SXSW this weekend, instead focusing on the update to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run that will debut alongside the movie. It’s worthwhile for Star Wars fans to pay attention to the full announcement, though, as a quote from the film’s director, Jon Favreau, heavily suggests that the ride is based on the movie.
“This isn’t going to retell what happens in the movie – it’s more like participating in something that’s happening just off-camera from what you see in the film,” Favreau explained.

Keep this quote in mind (and the fact that the film and the ride update release on the same day) when you look over the concept art, as there are plenty of familiar locations and vehicles that may feature in the film. Among these teases is none other than the Razor Crest, alongside the Millennium Falcon (the subject of the ride) in Cloud City. The ship also appears in a leaked trailer for the film, seemingly confirming the perfect storm for the LEGO Star Wars team.
Despite the ship’s destruction in a previous season of The Mandalorian, the ride’s concept art implies that the ship will be returning in the film, and this presents the LEGO Group with a great opportunity for an updated take on the ship since it would need to be rebuilt in fiction, anyway.

There have been three full sets based on the Razor Crest so far, with only the massive 75331 The Razor Crest still being available ahead of the 2026 film, but it’s due to retire at the end of this year. This upcoming retirement, paired with the tease that the Razor Crest is back in the new movie, opens the door for a new LEGO model of the ship in any one of the three scales depicted previously.
The Razor Crest has not been officially confirmed to return in the film just yet, but opting to feature it instead of Din Djarin’s modified N-1 Starfighter in the ride based on the film implies that its destruction wasn’t the end for the Razor Crest. Similarly, the LEGO Group has not confirmed any LEGO Star Wars sets based on The Mandalorian & Grogu, though the many models based on the series makes some likely.
The Mandalorian & Grogu, as well as the update to Smuggler’s Run at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, will be released on May 22, 2026. Hopefully an official trailer is on the horizon to confirm whether the ship is back or if the N-1 Starfighter will be the focus, or both.
