LEGO Star Wars The Mandalorian set could be huge for rumoured Skeleton Crew model

An odd LEGO Star Wars minifigure from a The Mandalorian set may be more important than expected, based on rumours of LEGO Skeleton Crew.

As Screen Rant reports, Vane has been confirmed as a villain in the upcoming Star Wars: Skeleton Crew series. It’s also stated to not have the same stakes as other shows including Ahsoka and The Mandalorian, focusing closely on a smaller cast of characters and their story specifically.

Vane may be familiar as a minor recurring character in chapters 17 and 21 of the third season of The Mandalorian. The Nikto pirate’s debut in The Mandalorian means that he has a unique minifigure exclusively available in 75346 Pirate Snub Fighter alongside another Nikto pirate. At its launch in 2023, an exclusive minifigure for what was then a relatively minor character seemed unusual, though it appears to have been to the LEGO Group’s benefit.

Vane is pictured on the right of both images above and the Star Wars series is rumoured to be getting its own LEGO set this year – 75374 Onyx Cinder – as stated by MaxBaut. Knowing that a Vane minifigure exists presents two distinct possibilities for the rumoured model.

The minifigure could remain exclusive to 75346 Pirate Snub Fighter, which is currently scheduled to retire later this year as an affordable companion model. Alternatively, Vane’s minifigure could be reused for the rumoured 75374 Onyx Cinder alongside likely minifigures of the series’ main cast.

This might depend on whether Vane’s outfit or appearance changes in Skeleton Crew, and whether or not any such changes would necessitate an entirely new minifigure for the character.

Either way, while the rumours of 75374 Onyx Cinder have not been officially confirmed, this might be the excuse you’ve been waiting for to pick up 75346 Pirate Snub Fighter just in case. You can read our review of the LEGO Star Wars set by clicking here.

It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes.
