LEGO Star Wars May 1 rumours: Mandalorian battle pack, Skeleton Crew set, and more

More rumoured details have surfaced for sets coming in May and June this year, including BrickHeadz, gifts-with-purchase, and a Skeleton Crew set.

LEGO YouTuber MaxBaut has dug into some upcoming LEGO Star Wars sets for 2024 in his latest video, with rumoured minifigure descriptions, price confirmations, and an expected name for the as-yet-unconfirmed Skeleton Crew set. Scroll down for a breakdown on what’s new in the world of LEGO Star Wars rumours, with a table summarising everything to come this year at the end.

30685 TIE Interceptor

Known previously only by the set number, MaxBaut has reported a rumoured name for 30685 TIE Interceptor Polybag, while also repeating previous information that it will be made up of 48 pieces, cost €3.99, and be arriving on May 1. As with most other polybags, it will be available when you spend a certain amount on LEGO, likely limited to the LEGO Star Wars theme in celebration of May 1 (aka Star Wars Day). It’s not yet known how much this minimum spend might be, and few details are known on what exactly 30685 TIE Interceptor Polybag might look like.

However, we can likely expect from the name that it will be microscale version of the TIE Interceptor, likely similar to 30654 X-Wing Starfighter.

Next up is a small added detail for the rumoured BrickHeadz set, 40675 Commander Cody, that it will be made up of 147 pieces. The LEGO YouTuber also echoed further reports for a predictable price of $9.99 / €9.99.

40676 The Phantom Menace BrickHeadz Collection

Similarly, another LEGO BrickHeadz set believed to be coming this year is 40676 The Phantom Menace BrickHeadz Collection, now with a rumoured piece count of 732 pieces. This set will not only be released the year of LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary, but also to celebrate 25 years since The Phantom Menace premiered.

MaxBaut described some expected details for the figures, with the set including Qui-Gon Jinn, Darth Maul, Queen Amidala dressed in her signature red dress, Jar Jar Binks, Captain Panaka, and young Anakin Skywalker, complete with a pod-racing helmet.

40686 Battle Droid Carrier

More details have now also surfaced about 40686 Battle Droid Carrier, believed to be a LEGO Star Wars GWP for May 1. The LEGO YouTuber states that it’s expected to include eight minifigures, including six regular Battle Droids and two blue Battle Droid pilots. By regular, we’d assume this means more of the cream-coloured figures, as seen most recently in 75372 Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack.

75374 Onyx Cinder

Moving on to meatier rumours, we now have a potential name for the long-rumoured LEGO Skeleton Crew set: 75374 Onyx Cinder. This name is presumably tied to a ship, location, or something else from the upcoming show but exactly what that is has not yet been speculated. We’ll surely know more when either the set itself is revealed or we learn more about the Disney+ show, coming out sometime this year.

75373 Ambush on Mandalore Battle Pack

Image: Disney

Max was able to describe the rumoured 75373 Ambush on Mandalore Battle Pack in apparent detail, as well as reporting a tiny piece count change, from 109 to 108 pieces, as well as a possible slight price increase to €21.99. This would make it €2 more expensive than 75345 501st Clone Troopers Battle Pack, for example, a 2023 battle pack with a similar piece count.

With regards to what 75373 Ambush on Mandalore Battle Pack includes, the YouTuber reports that it will be based on the Mandalorians’ final battle on Mandalore in episode 8 of season 3, with Mandalorians going up against Moff Gideon and his forces. The set will include a small rocky landscape with entries made out of grey slopes, accompanied by a chest to store accessories and a turret in a similar to 75389 332nd Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper Battle Pack. There’s also a bendy translucent rod attached to the rocks, so you can display Mandalorians as if they are flying with their jet packs, similar to how the Green Goblin is posed in 76921 Spider-Man Final Battle.

Four minifigures are believed to be included, featuring two Imperial troopers (with beskar armour and a new helmet mould) and two Mandalorians. The Mandalorians are unnamed but will reportedly look a lot like Koska Reeves and Axe Wolves, wearing Night Owl outfits of dark blue overalls and light blue armour, with brown accents and silver printing on the helmet for the woman and dark grey accents and brown printing on the helmet for the man.

75386 Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle

A similarly detailed description has also been reported for the rumoured 75386 Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle. The set is believed to include a door that can slam shut, to mimic Vizsla’s dramatic final stand. A printed brick can be pressed to trigger the door, just like the iconic Mandalorian does in the show to save his people. The entire build stands on a small plate, with a brick-built turret that looks like it could have come straight from a Death Star set.

Max echoes earlier reports that 75386 Paz Vizsla and Moff Gideon Battle will include four minifigures: Paz Viszla, Moff Gideon, and two Praetorian guards. In additon, Paz will be kitted out with a huge gun that he can hold with two hands, reflecting his appearance in the show.

75390 Luke Skywalker X-wing Mech

Next up is 75390 Luke Skywalker X-wing Mech. An unusual concept, the mech will mimic the features of Luke’s X-wing, being white in colour and with wings in the style of the ship protruding from the shoulders. Luke can of course sit in the mech and will be equipped with a lightsaber and blaster, if the rumours are true.

75391 Captain Rex Y-wing Microfighter

With a reported European price of €12.99, 75391 Captain Rex Y-wing Microfighter will reportedly include the same Captain Rex as in 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser. That seemingly includes a pauldron and a rangefinder, making it a far more affordable way to pick up the coveted minifgure than buying the pricer LEGO Star Wars UCS model.

Here’s a reminder of every confirmed and rumoured LEGO Star Wars set that might be coming up this year. Remember that any rumoured information is not confirmed until we get an official reveal from the LEGO Group, so take these reports with a pinch of salt for now.
