Every LEGO Ideas set in production – May 2024

The LEGO Ideas team has been busy, revealing sets and confirming which other fan-designed sets have been successful, so here’s an up-to-date list of what’s on the way.

For most LEGO themes, there’s no way of knowing for sure what’s on the way until the LEGO Group reveals it. However, you can often get an idea of what’s coming to LEGO Ideas months or even years before the sets will end up on shelves, thanks to the nature of the theme.

The LEGO Ideas team confirms which sets from each review round have been selected to become real LEGO Ideas sets, sketching out a future for the theme in advance. With a recent announcement of the two successful sets from the second review round from 2023, here’s an updated list of every confirmed LEGO Ideas set currently in production, as of May 2024.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Simon Scott’s The Nightmare Before Christmas was confirmed as a successful project in the second 2022 review. The fan-designed set celebrates the holiday movie with a recreation of Halloweentown and several characters from the beloved movie. Rumours suggest it could be released in September 2024, but nothing has been announced as of yet.

Jaws

Another set confirmed to be coming on the way in 2022, The Jaws project by Johnny Campbell would make sense to be released this year, seeing as though 2024 is the 50th anniversary of the book that inspired the iconic movie as well as the 50th anniversary of when filming started. Rumour has it that this model could launch as early as August, though this has not been confirmed by the LEGO Group.

Reading, Reading, Reading

The product of a LEGO Ideas challenge, FR_AN’s Reading, Reading, Reading will become a gift-with-purchase, likely to come with another LEGO Ideas set. No details have been confirmed about this upcoming GWP, so keep your ears to the ground for now.

Disney Magic

Another result of a LEGO Ideas contest, 2A2A’s Disney Magic celebrates the 100th anniversary of Disney, which the LEGO Group celebrated in style alongside Disney in 2023. It’s rumoured to release in October with 1,103 pieces, though this remains unconfirmed.

Twilight: Cullen House

Another upcoming LEGO Ideas set based on an IP is Nick Micheels’ Twilight: Cullen House. Inspired by the characters and house from the Twilight franchise, this design was approved for a set in December 2023, meaning it’s still pretty early on in its lifecycle.

The Botanical Garden

Set to reveal the LEGO Friends set of the same name, Valentina Bima’s The Botanical Garden was approved to ecome a LEGO Ideas set at the same time as Twilight: Cullen House. It makes history as the first modular LEGO Ideas submission to be approved to date.

Knowledge is Power

Thanks to a recent STEM-themed LEGO Ideas challenge, Danielbradleyy’s Knowledge is Power is set to become an official LEGO Ideas set. The intricately designed set includes a rocket and more builds rising out of a book, as well as three minifigures.

Micro Rail Command Center

Falkorich‘s Micro Rail Command Center won a cosmic-themed contest, earning it a place as a future LEGO Insiders reward. It features various classic LEGO Space imagery and a micro rail, riffing on fan-favourite classic monorail set.

Moon Car

A winner from the very same contest as the Micro Rail, EnchantingNoodle‘s Moon Car will be another LEGO Insiders Reward in the future. It features a dynamically-displayed space vehicle, complete with its very own angled stand.

Minifigure Prize Machine

One of the two LEGO Ideas sets most recently confirmed, Rob Vangansewinkel’s Minifigure Prize Machine is an ingenious and slightly meta submission, offering a way to get minifigures from an arcade-style gumball machine. The LEGO Ideas team liked the idea so much that it has also sparked plans for not one but two LEGO Ideas Fan Votes to decide on a new Classic Spaceman colour and a new Castle faction emblem to go along with the new set.

Western River Steamboat

Aaron Hall’s enormous Western River Steamboat was also confirmed earlier this month, making it one of the most recent entries to this list. While the final product might not look exactly like this image, if it’s anything close, it’ll certainly be a mighty addition to the theme.
