LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga gets free PS5 upgrade

If you’re planning to buy the PS4 version of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, you’ll get a free PS5 digital upgrade too.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is almost here and it’s set to launch on a multitude of platforms in a variety of versions. One option available to players is the ability to buy a physical disc-based version of the game or download a digital copy.

Whilst some fans will be picking up boxed copies of the single-disc Standard Edition or goodies-packed Deluxe Edition (with seven Character Collection DLC packs and 30625 Luke Skywalker with Blue Milk minifigure), others will be more than happy with no disc and just a digital version.

However, if you’re lucky enough to be a multi-console household, you could get to enjoy the best of both worlds. Those players who purchase a physical copy of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on PlayStation 4 will get a free PlayStation 5 digital upgrade at no extra cost. The upgraded PS5 version of the game will feature enhanced visuals that take full advantage of Sony’s next generation console.

To get the upgrade, players need to insert a PS4 version of the game into their disc-based PS5 and then download the digital copy. The PS4 disc needs to be inserted into the PS5 every time players wish to access the PS5 upgraded version of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Unfortunately, owners of the disc-free PS5 won’t be eligible for the free PS4 upgrade offer.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is available to pre-order now and will launch in less than six weeks on April 5.
