Clever display at LEGO Store recreates an iconic Super Mario Bros. Movie scene

A reddit user has spotted a display at a LEGO Store that recreates a scene from The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

User ASmolWeirdo posted a picture of the display, showing 71411 The Mighty Bowser sitting at 21323 Grand Piano from LEGO Ideas, complete with Princess Peach from 71403 Adventures with Peach Starter Course.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was released on April 5, just ten days ago, and similar displays of that one iconic musical number have been spotted in more than one LEGO store. User One-Possibility-6149 commented that “My local store had Bowser holding the Nintendo controller and it convinced me I need a Bowser so I can recreate it.”

Given the price tags on all of the sets, it would certainly be an expensive recreation of the scene, totalling up to £583.52 / $729.97 / €660.08, but one that would definitely make an impact as a display. And that price tag would be based on the assumption that you didn’t have any of the individual sets already.

If you haven’t seen the film yet, check out the scene in question (and prepare to potentially have the chorus in your head for a while) below:

We already had quite a few official LEGO Mario sets, but no word so far on any potential LEGO sets that might later be released based on the movie. For now, it’s up to the fans to make their own creations – and clearly, everyone is already getting creative.
