LEGO Stores hosting Father’s Day make and take event this month

This year’s Father’s Day will be celebrated in LEGO Stores with a special car-themed make and take freebie event later this month.

For men of a certain age, the greatest annual event in the social calendar is almost here. We’re talking, of course, about Father’s Day, a celebration of all things dad, with the festivities taking place as usual on June 18. To mark this important occasion, LEGO Stores will be hosting a special make and take experience, offering visitors a free car-based model.

Those who make their way to their local stores on June 17 from 10am to 12pm and then on June 18 from 12pm to 2pm can pick up a LEGO Cars build, while stocks last. Details of the make and take event state that a limited quantity of the model will be available on a first come, first served basis, with one build per person.

The image accompanying the event shows four such brick-built vehicles, all of which were included in last year’s 30510 90 Years of Cars. That polybag was released as part of the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary celebrations in 2022 and has since popped up as a freebie at other retailers. This would seem to suggest the set itself will be given away at the upcoming Father’s Day event and that the make and take model won’t be limited to just one of the cars shown above.

30510 90 Years of Cars proved to be a slightly tricky model to obtain when it was first released and was accompanied last year by other such 90th anniversary builds as 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle, 40577 Forest Hideout, 10497 Galaxy Explorer and 11021 90 Years of Play.
