LEGO Stores to celebrate 80th anniversary of Batman

Batman’s 80th anniversary will be celebrated in US LEGO Stores with a special building activity.

The Dark Knight has turned 80 this year, with DC Comics celebrating the anniversary of Batman’s very first appearance in Detective Comics. To celebrate, LEGO Stores in the USA – and potentially elsewhere – are holding LEGO Life meetings with special build activities.

Revealed on the new September LEGO Store calendar that has been shared the Brick Fan, children will be able to build a Bat-Vehicle and villain getaway vehicle on September 21. They need to pre-register for the event for $10. From 3.00pm, adults will be able to build their own Bat-Vehicle on a first come, first served basis. It is not clear if attendees get to keep their models.

Those who upload their creations on the LEGO Life app will be entered into a draw to win a $50 LEGO Store gift card.

A recent LEGO Ideas Activity encouraged builders to celebrate Batman’s big anniversary by building something related to the brooding hero. It is rumoured that a special D2C set will be released to commemorate the occasion.
