LEGO Super Mario 30385 Super Mushroom Surprise Expansion Set revealed

Another LEGO Super Mario set has been revealed – 30385 Super Mushroom Surprise Expansion Set.

LEGO Super Mario Starter Kit Bundle with Gift is available to pre-order at LEGO.com now, with the bundle containing 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course and 40414 Monty Mole & Super Mushroom Expansion Set for free.

Other retailers have a different option – Zavvi is providing 30385 Super Mushroom Surprise Expansion Set as the free set with 71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course. It is smaller than 40414, so does not offer the same value for money, but collectors will still want to get their hands on it.

Given the set number, it will be a polybag, which makes sense given that the little set contains only a few elements.

71360 Adventures with Mario Starter Course includes the Super Mario figure, which activates not just this model but all of the other sets in the theme too. The character must then be placed on certain squares to collect coins, just as he does in classic Super Mario video games. Different squares that Mario placed on lead to different reactions, with lava for example leading to fire appearing on the figure’s chest.

Brick Fanatics understands that a series of outfits will also be released for the Super Mario figure.
