LEGO Super Mario 71426 Piranha Plant chomps onto shelves today

Watch out for the bite on the latest LEGO Super Mario set as 71426 Piranha Plant has officially launched, featuring a hidden function.

A brand new LEGO Super Mario set, another as part of the LEGO for Adults range, is out now on the official online store and in physical stores too. Following a variety of more expensive LEGO Super Mario models recommended for older builders, 71426 Piranha Plant is available starting today for £57.99 / $59.99 / €64.99.

Ideal for display on its own on a shelf or desk, or as a more outlandish companion model to the LEGO Botanical Collection, 71426 Piranha Plant is the biggest and most accurate depiction of the iconic enemy to date, as well as the first LEGO Super Mario set with no digital play functions (no functionality with the LEGO Super Mario electronic figures).

However, there’s more to 71426 Piranha Plant than meets the eye as the ferocious flora can be used as a coin bank. There are even some LEGO Super Mario coins to insert into the model.

Releasing a month before 10329 Tiny Plants with a more realistic carnivorous plant creation, 71426 Piranha Plant is available now for £57.99 / $59.99 / €64.99.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
