LEGO and Pharrell Williams comment on huge collaboration

The LEGO Group and musician Pharrell Williams have teamed up for a new immersive experience while commenting on the collaboration.

Just in time for the release of Piece by Piece in the US, a new immersive experience has been opened for Los Angeles with a distinct space theme celebrating curiosity and creativity. The experience was only open for one day, unfortunately, but its reveal has at least provided us with more insight into the LEGO Group’s collaboration with Williams.

The now-closed experience featured spaces to build, a minifigure make-and-take zone, a space to make a custom shirt and the custom minifigure maker that you can also find online.

Commenting on the collaboration with the LEGO Group and the new movie, Williams shared: “Seeing the film through the lens of LEGO animation, we were able to tell a universal story. The reaction we are getting to the film is that a lot of people are walking away feeling inspired and that they can do and be anything they want to be. I love that.

“Imagine you are five years old, playing with a LEGO set and now fast forward and you are in this position that I am in here today, talking about my own film, told through LEGO animation.? If this can happen for me, I want all the kids out there to just imagine what they can do too.”

The collaboration with Pharrell Williams isn’t just limited to the experience and Piece by Piece though, also including the newly-available 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing our partnership with Pharrell Williams to Los Angeles at this immersive experience that brings the project to life through Pharrell’s unique lens and celebrates the diverse voices and creativity that shape our world,” Alero Akuya, the LEGO Group VP of Global Brand Development, commented.

Piece by Piece launches later this month in the US and next month internationally but in the meantime, you can pick up 10391 Over the Moon with Pharrell Williams.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
