From BMW to Batmobile: LEGO Technic 2022 sets available now

Seven brand new LEGO Technic sets are now available to purchase online and in-store, including the theme’s first-ever Batmobile.

42127 The Batman – Batmobile is the first time the Dark Knight’s ride has been recreated using Technic’s system of axles, pins and gears, and has been inspired specifically by Robert Pattinson’s Bat-car in Matt Reeves’ upcoming The Batman. It packs in differential on the rear wheels, steering on the front wheels and two light bricks: one for the rear engine, and one for the front grille.

It’s not the only first for Technic in 2022, however: 42130 BMW M 1000 RR is also the company’s biggest motorcycle to date, replicating BMW’s first-ever M-series bike. It’s not cheap at £174.99 / $229.99 / €199.99, but you do get 1,920 pieces for your money, along with a build that features a three-speed gearbox, steering, suspension, a chain transmission and a four-piston engine.

If your Technic budget won’t quite stretch to those this soon after Christmas, no bother: there’s also a handful of smaller sets to tide you over. Check them all out (along with our reviews, where applicable) using the links below.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
