LEGO Technic has room for more Batman builds

LEGO DC’s first set of 2023 is a Technic model that follows another build based on The Batman, but there’s room for more in the theme.

Following on from 42127 TheBatman– Batmobile in 2023 as the first LEGO DC set for the year is 42155 The Batman – Batcycleon March 1, 2023. With fewer DC movies and projects to base sets on, it could be another slow period in the theme for the foreseeable future as the newly formed DC studios organises their upcoming slate.

However, one remedy for this could be more LEGO Technic Batman sets and not just based on the 2022 movie.

Focusing on The Batman, it wasn’t filled with any recognisable vehicles beyond the Batcycle and Batmobile that the theme’s design team has now covered. What it does still have though, is Batarangs with an especially angular design that could lend itself well to a smaller Technic recreation complete with a display stand.

It wouldn’t be the first time that LEGO recreated a Batarang beyond the minifigure accessory too with 853870 Batarang launched for The LEGO Movie 2.

Outside of The Batman, another iconic Batman vehicle ripe for a Technic recreation would be the Batwing with previous brick-built incarnations using mostly System elements.

For now, the future of LEGO DC only includes 42155 The Batman – Batcycle but fans of the superhero franchise can at least look forward to its release on March 1, 2023, for £49.99 / $49.99 / €54.99. Alternatively, the latest LEGO modular building is perfect for an iconic DC scene.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
