LEGO Icons 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook revealed

The third LEGO book nook has been revealed in the form of 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook, finally giving us a Balrog figure.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings in 2025 isn’t limited to just 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire and its exclusive gift-with-purchase. The LEGO Group has now officially lifted the curtain on the new 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook.

The 1,201-piece LEGO The Lord of the Rings set is just a few days away, launching on June 1, 2025, for £109.99 / $129.99 / €119.99, which is the same price as 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook. There’s one Gandalf minifigure in 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook, matching that of 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire.

Not only is this the third LEGO book nook, following 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook and 76450 Book Nook: Hogwarts Express, but it’s also the home of the first LEGO Balrog figure outside of a video game. The Balrog is a huge part of 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook. A video showcases the Moria model without the Balrog on it, strongly suggesting that you can take the impressive Balrog off the book nook and use it separately.

The wingspan of the LEGO Balrog has been integrated into the unfolding design of 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook, as well, allowing you to display the set folded between books or unfolded as an individual display.

The new LEGO The Lord of the Rings set is also the newest diorama model, thanks to a printed plaque stating the iconic line from Gandalf’s impactful confrontation with the Balrog. It looks to be a versatile display set with the removable Balrog figure allowing for interesting pairings with other LEGO The Lord of the Rings models – both custom and official.

10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook set is one of three LEGO book nooks launching on June 1, 2025 – alongside 10351 Sherlock Holmes: Book Nook and 76450 Book Nook: Hogwarts Express – leaving you with the decision of which one to collect, or whether to fill your bookshelves with all three.

Don’t forget that 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell, 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr and 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire are also still available, but 10367 The Lord of the Rings: Balrog Book Nook is by far the least expensive of the lot.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
