LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith set revealed

The biggest LEGO The Lord of the Rings set so far has been revealed as the range finally visits the capital of Gondor, Minas Tirith.

Following trips to Rivendell, Barad-dur and The Shire, LEGO Icons’ The Lord of the Rings range is at long last recreating Minas Tirith in an 8,278-piece set launching next month. Minas Tirith is one of the most significant locations to never be depicted in LEGO before now, not even in the original The Lord of the Rings theme.

This location has been teased to be receiving a LEGO model for a long time, and now 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith is almost here.

11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith

Price: £579.99 / €649.99 / $649.99 Pieces: 8,278 Release date: June 1, 2026

11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith features 8,278 pieces, and will launch on June 1 for LEGO Insiders or June 4 widely for £579.99 / €649.99 / $649.99. The set is designed to be a microscale representation of the massive walled city and stands at 59cm tall. Official images feature several minifigures on the exterior of the model, where they are not specifically to scale.

Instead, you can pose the 10 minifigures inside the set, where several interiors have been recreated with grandiose details. The throne room of the citadel makes up most of the interior, featuring a huge space and a rounded ceiling. The throne can be removed for a standalone display, and statues to the side technically add two more minifigures to the count.

Other interior spaces include a bedroom and an office, both overlooking the central throne room. There’s also a market area within the city’s walls at the front of the build, which is to scale with minifigures. Those 10 minifigures include Gandalf the White, Faramir, Denethor, Peregrin Took, Aragorn as King Elessar, Arwen, and four Soldiers of Gondor. They come with new elements such as a textile banner, hair with a crown and Gondor helmets.

11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith will be released on June 1 for LEGO Insiders or June 4 widely. As is often the case with major LEGO releases in recent years, it will come with an exclusive gift-with-purchase between June 1 and 7 or while stocks last.

That gift is none other than 40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond. The 307-piece model recreates the massive battering ram with two orc minifigures.

The duo of new LEGO The Lord of the Rings models have been a long time coming and can be yours starting early next month. Make sure you have a free LEGO Insiders membership set up in advance to ensure you don’t miss out on the GWP. They both join the list of LEGO Icons models in 2026, which cover just about everything from pop culture to a bike.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
