LEGOLAND Windsor changes plans for The LEGO Movie World

Plans for The LEGO Movie World at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort have been changed, with the theme park re-theming the new area to an unspecified topic.

Last August, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort submitted a planning application for a less ambitious The LEGO Movie World than was originally intended, with slow planning approval seemingly behind the curbed plans. Now, The LEGO Movie theme is being ditched entirely in favour of some new, unspecified theme for the area.

South Parks reveals that LEGOLAND Windsor has submitted planning permission for a new theme for what is currently Adventure Land. The structures will be the same, but The LEGO Movie theme will be shifted.

The colour palettes are set to be fairly neutral, with greens and browns. As for the drop tower ride, that will have “flame type elements” at the top rather than Unikitty. The paths around the area will feature a “natural colour palette with blue crystal looking veins and a red brown surface around the drop towers”.

It seems that the new area will open for the 2021 season, although that may be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, which forced the theme park to close for several months this year.
