More details spotted for LEGO Icons Star Trek set rumoured for 2025
The latest rumoured details offer an idea both on size and a release date for the Star Trek set said to be coming to LEGO Icons in 2025.
As reported by Max Baut via a Brick Tap member, we now have a rumoured set name for the previously anonymous Star Trek LEGO set: 10356 USS Enterprise D. That confirms our likely suspicions when we first reported on the rumour and the rumoured piece count of 3,600 pieces suggests we could be getting a truly mammoth version of the iconic ship.
The name is also an indicator that the set will be based on Star Trek: The Next Generation and the film Star Trek Generations, as ‘D’ at the end sets it apart from other vessels of the same name.
That piece count puts it roughly in the same size category as this year’s Black Friday set, 10335 The Endurance – which is especially fitting as 10356 USS Enterprise D is rumoured to be coming out for Black Friday 2025. We also have some rumoured details on the minifigures expected to feature: Picard, Riker, Worf, Geordi, Dr Crusher, Wesley Crusher, Troi, Guinan, and Data – along with his cat Spot.
The stacked minifigure cast and hefty piece count suggests that the LEGO Group is going all in on its first Star Trek set. While there’s no details on price just yet, there likely will be a sizable price tag to match. Of course, all the details above are only rumoured for now and, until we get an official confirmation from the LEGO Group, take it all with a pinch of salt.

I am 41. TNG is my second favorite show of all time (behind DS9). I grew up with Lego in the late 80s and 90s. I am in the target demo and will be getting this set the day it’s released. I have no emotional connection to TOS. Most hardcore TOS fans are probably in their 60s and 70s and aren’t who would be spending $300+ on a Lego set. Releasing the Enterprise D first makes good business sense.
LAUGHABLE…..IN MY 60’S AND WAITING TO TAP THAT CARD! DON’T LET A BOOMER FOOL YOU!!!
I can see the argument about which Enterprise to release first from both sides. There are probably more “D” buyers in the target demo than “TOS/Refit/A” buyers. It’s an easier design for LEGO. It’s been more recently featured in a show (Picard S3).
The TOS/Refit/A enthusiast (me included) argument basically boils down to: it was the first ship so it should be the first set, and (subjectively) it’s a better looking ship.
The ‘nostalgia’ argument is a wash. Plenty of potential buyers are nostalgic for either one or both.
If I’m a LEGO executive, I think the safer bet is the Enterprise D as the inaugural set.
The Enterprise-D is the ship I grew up with. To me, it is the most iconic. For one, the show had 7 seasons vs the original which only had 3. I think most adult fans of Lego with disposable income are likely 80’s kids. Nothing against the original. If this looks good I’ll definitly buy it. Don’t care about pulanski or yar, they where only on the show briefly. But a Q minifig would be really nice to include
Missing Yar and Pulaski is… a strange choice to say the least. Honestly I’d have expected them, Q and Ro Laren to be included along with O’Brien (unless they’re going to do DS9) as a minimum really, especially when you think about other large Icons sets like Rivendell that had no obvious omissions on the minifig front. Just seems a little bit cheap to go for nine when fourteen would’ve been comprehensive. If they wanted to draw the line at the main cast, or Enterprise crew, I’d understand to a certain extent but Pulaski and Yar were both of those. Bit worrying that if they do DS9 we might not get both Daxs and Voyager may not include both Kes and Seven…
“Bit worrying that if they do DS9 we might not get both Daxs and Voyager may not include both Kes and Seven…”
I honestly can’t tell if this is satire, or if you’re just incredibly out of touch.
They’re minor characters. Lego won’t be doing DS9. get ahold of yourself.
Yar was only in a couple seasons and frankly, wasn’t that memorable. Worf is the iconic security chief of the series, and it wouldn’t make much sense to have two security chiefs. I watched every episode of TNG and I don’t even remember who Pulaski is.
Totally agree . I think making a Star Trek LEGO Icons TNG Enterprise set is perfect! There are Star Trek fans who grew up with TNG, and I’m sure they will buy it. They never released one yet. I will probably pick it up if it’s about 2,000 pieces, about $200 to $350, which isn’t too much. I don’t want LEGO to release a super huge Enterprise set, I am not a fan of very large ships like the millennium falcon. I know people will disagree with me but this is just my opinion. I love Rivendell and Barad Dûr, even though they are large. I am a LOTR and a Star Wars fan, I like Star Trek but I am not a fan. They say that the minifigures will be: Picard, Riker, Worf, Geordi, Dr Crusher, Wesley Crusher, Troi, Guinan, and Data – along with his cat Spot, but I would love if they included Picard as Locutus, and maybe two borgs. That would be so cool.
How is it strange? Pulaski was a 1 season doctor, and Yar died in the 1st season. They both may be a part of the TNG family, but they never really stayed on with the main cast, while the characters, aside from Wesely Crusher stayed on the full 7 seasons. And unlike Yar and Polaski, Crusher remained relatively active in the TNG universe beyond being a regret.
apparently that Ro Laren going to be a model in the shuttle that only can brought with enterprise d
This is the worst news ever… German rival, Bluebricks, already make stunning licenced brick models of TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager from mini to mid-size to huge detailed models, and they are incredibly affordable and at least half the price of what Lego are likely to charge. They also make their own mini figures (different to Lego type). I can attest to the quality of these models, as I already have most of them. Don’t get ripped off by Lego
I personally am looking very forward to this set. TNG was my absolute favorite series. Captain Picard taught me a lot about being a man. Good story lines, wonderful cast, and not quite as campy as the original. If this is true I will be buying it for sure.
Starting the Star Trek series with the most iconic starship, the Enterprise D from Captain Picard, makes so much sense and is the right move from Lego. Star Trek fans who wanted the NCC-1701 would Kong have purchased the (in many ways awesome) Mega Bloks Star Trek with Captain Kirk and Spock as figures. Going head to head with that great set would be very risky for Lego, and as a fan I don’t want to have two NCC-1701 standing side by side.
The only thing I am wondering: As far as I know the German company BlueBrixx owns the rights for Enterprise D, and has produced such a set already. Maybe Lego cut a deal with them.
Bluebrixx’s license expired (at the end of 2024 I think) or is soon to expire. They posted a video a month or two ago saying they won’t be making any more and are selling off their limited stock.
Bleh, nothing against the D, but starting a potential new series with TNG feels extremely bizarre. It is not one of the current series’ ships, it is not the original, or most iconic (arguably those last two are the same). This feels very self sabotaging, if true, because I expect a lot of Trek fans (like myself) would see this and be like, “OK, but where is the original NCC-1701?” And then when it doesn’t sell as well as expected, they can throw their hands in the air and say, “Welp, we tried!” and scrap the whole thing. We will have to wait and see, obviously, but this does not fill me with hope.
The only reason I could see for starting with the D is a mechanical one, because its nacelle supports are significantly easier to translate into brick form. The Constitution class Trek ship design (and its retrofit cousin) is notoriously prone to damage to the nacelle supports in model and toy recreations.
LEGO has been heavily targeting children of the 80’s with its nostalgic sets (Eldorado, Blacktron, LKC, 80’s/90’s IP, etc.). The D is perfectly on point with this.
I can only hope they go big and make DS9 the second set.
Couldn’t really disagree more. I’d much rather take a TNG over the original series. Not having a Q mini fig is savage though 🙁 Also can’t wait for the inevitable Borg cube.
places 2×2 brick
Voila, mini borg cube
As someone who grew up with TNG, DS9 and Voyager and never got into TOS much, this is EXACTLY the set I wanted. The Enterprise D is my favorite ship and, as a grown man, I teared up during Picard S3E9. That was very probably my favorite Trek moment of all time, seeing her again. Honestly the OG is pretty close to the bottom of my list. I even like the NX-01 better. I don’t normally buy sets over 100 bucks but I am saving up from now and I will get this as soon as I can. Hopefully it sells well (it will) and they do the OG for you.
Agree with everything you’ve written. The D is likely easier to design, though its saucer is so front heavy that D models tend to fall forward with the saucer touching the ground. While LEGO’s 1980s focus for other IPs of the era has been working, perhaps LEGO hasn’t considered that the same may not be true for TNG. Next Gen, after all, is a derivative series, unlike the others they have released sets for. Hallmark and other manufacturers have been making ornaments and toys from all eras of Trek, but only TOS stuff sells well. I’ve been told by Hallmark store owners that non-TOS ornaments languish on the shelf. Hallmark even brought back its 2019 release of the Refit Enterprise ornament this year, as only the mini Refit ornament was selling. LEGO might have been better off to make its first set the Refit Enterprise from The Motion Picture.
