Munich LEGO store’s size, location and features have been revealed

Following the announcement that the largest LEGO store in Germany is coming to Munich later this year, further details have been revealed.

At the start of February, the LEGO Group’s German division revealed plans to open the biggest LEGO retail location in the region as the latest in their worldwide range of flagship stores.

The location, size and features of the Munich LEGO store have now been confirmed in a new press release. At 881 square metres, slightly bigger than the recently-opened Barcelona flagship store, the usual activities will be included in the retail location such as displays, unique model based on Munich and Bavaria and the personalisation studio including the minifigure factory and mosaic maker will be available to guests visiting the store.

Storytelling tables will also feature in the flagship shop, offering visitors a chance to learn about sets and watch interview videos with LEGO designers. Each of these is part of the transformation of the LEGO Group’s store experiences which you can read all about by clicking through to our guide.

“The new LEGO store in Munich will offer visitors of all ages the opportunity to be inspired by endless play possibilities and to embark on an exciting journey of discovery into the LEGO universe,” shared Karen Pascha-Gladyshev, Managing Director of LEGO GmbH. “We look forward to bringing innovative experiences to the retail space, using it for product launches, events and as a hub for our LEGO fan community.”

The Munich LEGO store will open in autumn 2022 on Kauffinger Strasse, but no specific day has been announced just yet. It might be that the new-for-2022 40528 LEGO Brand Retail Store set will be offered at the grand opening, though this hasn’t been confirmed.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
